Re: 2017 CPOIP and APOIP Training Dates

The Alberta Justice and Solicitor General Training Academy has identified the following training dates for 2017. For more information, please contact the Training Academy at 780-422-6598 or by email at training.academy@gov.ab.ca.

Community Peace Officer Induction Program (CPOIP): The course is delivered over 6 weeks in a single training block and is intended for sponsored candidates currently employed by a peace officer agency or who have been offered employment contingent upon successful completion of training. The course will be offered:

• April 10 – May 24, 2017 • June 5 – July 18, 2017

At present, the Training Academy will accept applications to CPOIP from sponsored candidates only. Eligibility for self-pay enrollment is currently under review. For specific requirements please see the application form.

Alberta Peace Officer Investigator Program (APOIP): The course is delivered over 3 weeks in a single training block and is intended for individuals, primarily GOA employees, performing an investigative function that requires a peace officer appointment. The course will be offered:

• April 3 – 25, 2017 • October 30 – November 17, 2017

For specific requirements please see the application form.

Public Security Division 9th Floor, John E. Brownlee Building 10365 97 Street Edmonton, Alberta, Canada T5J 3W7 Telephone: 780-427-3457 Fax: 780-427-5916

Application Forms and Fees: • Course fees are currently under review for both programs. Check with the Training Academy for fees and changes. • Application forms should be submitted as soon as possible; courses fill quickly and spaces will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis. Delivery of a particular session is dependent on a sufficient number of applications. Application forms can be found at the following link:
