Stolen peace officer's truck prompts RCMP warning Empty Stolen peace officer's truck prompts RCMP warning

Thu Mar 31, 2016 8:16 pm
RCMP are asking the public to be wary of police impersonators after a marked police truck was stolen from a water treatment facility in Millet on Thursday morning.

Police were called to a break and enter and theft at the water treatment facility in Millet at around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived, they noticed a peace officer's 2008 Ford truck had gone missing.

The vehicle is labeled with "Peace Officer" and "Town of Millet" decals. It also has roof lights and a siren. Police say the licence plate number is not available.

Any suspicious interactions should be reported to police, they say.

If anyone is pulled over by a vehicle they believe might not belong to police, RCMP say they should:

Pull over in a well-lit public area
Stay in the vehicle and lock the doors
Request identification from the person who pulled you over
Make it known you'll comply with requests with the attendance of a marked police vehicle and uniformed officer
Call 911
Note the description of the individual
Anyone who sees the Town of Millet peace officer truck is asked to avoid going near the vehicle and contact Wetaskiwin RCMP.
