Completed 2 year diploma in law enforcement from a provincially recognized institution
Minimum 2 years related public contact experience including 6 months of bylaw or legislation enforcement experience
Ability to qualify as a Community Peace Officer II
Must pass the P.A.R.E. physical fitness test
Considerable knowledge of and ability to apply and enforce Animal Control legislation, bylaw enforcement practices and investigation techniques impartially and tactfully
Ability to control a wide variety of domestic and potentially dangerous animals utilizing appropriate equipment

Excellent conflict management, decision making, interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) skills required
Ability to prepare reports and to accurately complete required documentation; proficiency working with computers including the Google Platform (mail, Docs, Sheets)
Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR is an asset
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent); ability to obtain and maintain a City Driver’s Permit
Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check (including Vulnerable Sector) satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week 7 days per week, shift work required

Salary: $37.153 - $38.409 (Hourly) $77,575 - $80,197 (Annually)
