Thorhild County is seeking a suitable individual to carry out the following duties:

• Enforcement of Municipal Bylaws and select Provincial Statutes;
• Conduct public safety and educational activities and provide support and assistance to municipal departments;

Qualifications required:

• Diploma or certificate from a recognized Law Enforcement Program and/or several years of related experience in Law Enforcement, preferable in Municipal Government environment;
• Class 5 Operator’s License;
• Will posses or be eligible to obtain an appointment as a Community Peace Office through Alberta Justice and successfully complete the P.A.R.E. physical testing within the prescribed time and be valid at the time of appointment;
• Demonstrate proven time management, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills;
• Knowledge and experience in rural bylaw enforcement, provincial legislation, commercial vehicle weight and traffic enforcement is required;
• Must be willing to work forty (40) hours per week and must be willing to work shift work, weekends, and statutory holidays.
