Reporting to the Community Peace Officer, Sergeant, you will be responsible for enforcing provincial statutes and municipal bylaws for the City of Leduc and dealing with public complaints within the city as well as non-moving traffic enforcement as per authorities granted through provincial appointment.  This position contributes to education of the citizens regarding their obligations under the various laws.  The CPO II also provides assistance to the RCMP in non-criminal matters.

The successful candidate will have completed post-secondary education in Law Enforcement or equivalent training; possess a current First Aid/CPR certificate, as well as PPCT.  Must be able to receive appointment as a CPO II by Alberta Justice and Solicitor General.  A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in law enforcement and a valid Class 5 driver’s license is required, and be able to obtain and maintain a RCMP Security Clearance; having a current clearance would be an asset.  Experience in animal control and techniques required to be successful in this function are an asset.
