CPO 1-Town of St. Paul

Community Peace Officer Level 1

Job Type: Permanent Full-time – 40 hours/week
Department: Municipal Enforcement
Classification Level: CPO1
Reports to: Director of Protective Services/Fire Chief

This position will be responsible for enforcing Provincial statutes and Municipal bylaws for the Town of St. Paul, including public complaint files, within the Town. In addition, the position shall conduct traffic enforcement for both moving and non-moving violations as per authorities granted through Provincial appointment. This position will also assist the St. Paul RCMP in non-criminal matters, under the direction of the Detachment Commander and authorized by the Director of Protective Services.

Required Qualifications:
 The successful candidate will possess a Post-Secondary certificate in Law Enforcement, however, a combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
 Ability to receive appointment as a CPO 1 by Alberta Justice and Solicitor General.
 Must be able to obtain (and retain) an RCMP issued Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.
 Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
 Valid First Aid/CPR certificate.
 Ability to work as a team player with minimum of supervision and excellent time management skills.

Remuneration (under review): $28.10/hour to $36.66/hour depending on qualifications and experience. In addition, the position is eligible for the Town’s standard benefit package.
