BYLAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS
(Community Peace Officer Level 2)
(Permanent, Full-time)

With a population of 32,097, Parkland County offers a range of municipal services and a vibrant mix of agricultural, residential, industrial and recreational opportunities. This unique rural area is situated on the west outskirts of Edmonton, just 20 minutes from downtown, and stretches over 2438 sq. km. of picturesque landscapes. We are currently inviting applications for:

Parkland County has three (3) Permanent, Full-time positions available in Enforcement Services for Community Peace Officer Level 2’s (Bylaw Enforcement Officers). Reporting to the Supervisor, Bylaw Enforcement, you will demonstrate your law enforcement skills by providing effective patrol coverage and enforcement of provincial statutes and municipal bylaws. You will investigate complaints from the general public, issue licenses, assist with animal adoptions, investigate nuisance and unsightly properties and other bylaw infractions, conduct regular patrols, and enhance public education and awareness. You will also conduct court related duties. Assistance will be provided to other County Departments and to external partners such as the RCMP and ASPCA. You must possess excellent judgment, interpersonal and public relations skills in promoting positive relations on behalf of the County.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Minimum Grade 12 diploma.
 Possess or be eligible to obtain appointment as a Community Peace Officer Level 2, with the Alberta Solicitor General & Public Security.
 Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License. Upon hire, a current Driver’s Abstract must be provided.
 Must be eligible to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check.
 Successful completion of an “in-house” program approved by the Alberta Solicitor General & Public Security is required.
Preference may be given to applicants who have experience working with Municipal Bylaws and have a good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.

Competition Number: 17-44
Salary Range: $31.14 per hour
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. This position involves shift work which will include weekends.
